The Journey of Mukunga church of christ:
1992
The church was officially started by Antony Nyongesa, who played a crucial role in laying its foundation. His dedication and vision for the ministry inspired many to join and support the work of spreading the Gospel in the region. Through his leadership, the church began to grow and attract more members and God added more and more souls to the church, making Mukunga chruch to become a beacon of hope and faith for the local community.
1993-2004
The church continued its mission, focusing on spreading the Gospel and strengthening the faith of its members. During this period, significant efforts were made to establish strong foundations in spiritual growth, discipleship, and outreach programs. The church organized numerous events and activities aimed at engaging the youth and the larger community, ensuring the continuity of its vision and mission.
2005-2008
This period marked a significant milestone as Fredrick was sponsored to attend a prestigious preaching school located in Arusha, Tanzania (Andrew Cornally School of Preaching). The enrollment in this school was a testament to the church’s commitment to investing in the spiritual development of its leaders. The training he received equipped him with advanced knowledge and skills to effectively lead and minister to the congregation. The sponsorship was a major step forward in ensuring the sustainability of leadership within the church.
2006
In 2006, John Hall, a teacher at Andrew Cornally School of Preaching, visited the Mukunga church of Christ. His visit marked the beginning of a meaningful relationship between the church and John, who was impressed by the dedication and spiritual growth of the congregation. This visit inspired further collaboration and laid the groundwork for future support and fellowship.
2008
John Hall returned to the Mukunga church of Christ in 2008, this time accompanied by his friend, Mathew William. Their visit was instrumental in fostering stronger ties between the church and their preaching network. The encouragement and spiritual teachings they brought greatly uplifted the congregation, furthering the church's mission and vision.
2013
Through John Hall’s efforts, the Sunset Church of Christ began supporting the ministry at Mukunga. This support marked a turning point for the church, enabling it to expand its outreach programs and strengthen its spiritual mission. The contribution of the Sunset Church of Christ underscored the value of partnerships in advancing the Gospel and fostering growth in the local congregation.
2014
In a significant milestone for the Mukunga Church of Christ, Kennedy Ngetich joined our dedicated evangelist team as a passionate new evangelist. His arrival brought a renewed sense of energy and purpose to the ministry, strengthening our efforts to share the message of God’s love and grace in Mukunga and beyond. Kennedy's contributions over the years have left an indelible mark on our community and spiritual growth.
2017
In 2017, we were blessed to sponsor Johnson Wafula to attend the prestigious Andrew Connally School of Preaching. This opportunity allowed Johnson to deepen his understanding of the Word and further hone his preaching skills. After completing his training, Johnson served diligently as an evangelist at Mukunga Church of Christ, bringing messages of hope and faith to our congregation. Eventually, Johnson transitioned to serve at Mount View Church of Christ, where his impactful ministry continues to inspire many in the faith.
2019
In another moment of divine provision, Peter Wafula, a passionate and committed member of our congregation, was also sponsored to join a preaching school. Peter’s time at the school further solidified his calling to ministry, and he returned to Mukunga to serve as an evangelist. His dedication to spreading the Gospel enriched our church community. Later, Peter moved on to Mount View Church of Christ, where he continues to serve with unwavering faith, spreading the Word and touching lives with his heartfelt preaching and guidance.
From 2013
Between 2013 and Now, the Sunset and BCS Churches of Christ made significant contributions to the Mukunga church of Christ. Their support, both financial and spiritual, has been instrumental in sustaining the ministry. Through evangelism, seminars, and various outreach programs, these churches have played a pivotal role in nurturing the faith of the congregation and spreading the Gospel. Their partnership continues to inspire growth and unity among the members of the Mukunga church of Christ.
